Getting collar updates

Nofence is constantly evolving and will update the collar's firmware from time to time. Ensuring that your collars have the latest firmware installed will help you maintain full performance.

The collar is in contact with the Nofence server via the mobile network. When the collar is communicating with the server, it checks for available updates. If the server has a new firmware version, the collar will automatically download it. To do this, you need good mobile coverage and a battery with sufficient charge.

If you want to manually check for firmware updates, follow these steps:

1. Make sure you have good network coverage.

2. Check that the battery level is sufficient.

3. Go to Update firmware in the app and follow the instructions.

4. Do not remove the battery before the update is complete.

After storing collars over winter, we recommend inserting the batteries overnight before using them on animals. This gives the collars enough time to download any available updates.
