Manage your livestock operation from your phone | Nofence

What is Nofence?

Virtual fencing that contains livestock without posts, wire, or physical infrastructure. Here's how.

The Nofence system in short

Each mature animal wears a solar-powered GPS collar. You draw boundaries on your phone, and the collar keeps the animal within them using escalating audio cues and, if needed, a gentle electric pulse. Most animals learn to respond to sound alone within days.

The system runs on GPS and mobile networks. No base stations, no buried wire, no complicated setup.

Core components

The collar

Tracks each animal's location and guides it within your boundaries. Solar-powered and built for field conditions.

The app

Draw pastures, adjust boundaries, and monitor your herd from your phone.

The connection

GPS keeps boundaries accurate around the clock, independent of mobile coverage. Mobile connectivity syncs updates and sends data back to the app. HerdNet collar-to-collar communication keeps the herd connected even in areas with limited signal.

“I know where they are at all times on my phone. I was on holiday two years ago, and I was literally sitting by the pool changing the boundary from afar.”

From boundaries to insights

Drawing pastures

Draw boundaries on your phone and animals learn to respect them within days, responding to audio cues before ever reaching the boundary.

The warning system

As an animal approaches a boundary, audio tones increase in pitch. If it continues, a mild pulse is delivered. Over time, most animals respond to sound alone.

Monitoring

Track every animal's location in real time. Get alerts if something crosses a boundary, spot changes in activity that may indicate a health issue, and use movement data to plan grazing rotations.

“It's easier to keep them in designated spots, moving them around without physical boundaries.”
