Moving livestock

Moving livestock from one location to another

After rounding up the herd in preparation for transportation you can assign livestock to a new pasture further a field, simply select the livestock in the app, and press move. Within 2 minutes your current pasture will disable and your new pasture will be in a waiting state, meaning it will enable once the livestock is detected in the pasture zone. Simply transport the livestock into the new pasture and it will enable.

Moving livestock around the pasture

You can move livestock around a pasture by simply extending the existing pasture to the new ungrazed area. Once the livestock discovers the boundary change and moves to the greener pasture you can simply close the pasture behind the herd. The best part of this method is that you don't even need to be there, you can watch the livestock move and herd the livestock from the app virtually. With them always being contained by virtual fencing.

More time for managed grazing

With so many producers wanting to do more intensive managed grazing to get the most out of their land we understand that the constant checking and changing of polywire fences can be time consuming and labour intensive. With the work day being unpredictable, achieving managed grazing consistently over the season can be near impossible, until now. With Nofence you can now move livestock to the next section within minutes during your busy day without needing to be there. The herd is very responsive to virtual fence changes and moves to the fresh pasture in minutes. Simply close the fence behind them.

Bale Grazing

With Nofence you can set up hay bales less often with virtual fencing. Many Nofence users have recommended laying out rows of bales and then extending the boundary periodically to cover an additional row of hay bales. This means you can give access to bales on your terms wherever you are directly from the app.

Virtually herd livestock towards the chute or gate days before moving them

Herding livestock can take a long time, Many producers with large herds on pastures covering hundreds of acres recommend using the virtual fence to herd livestock towards the gate or chute days before you plan to move or process the herd. Just a 1 minute edit to the virtual boundary twice a day before your planned move or check up can save hours of locating and rounding up cattle.

Strip grazing

The benefits of strip grazing are being realised faster than ever. But like most managed grazing practices it can be very labour and time intensive. With Nofence you can now create grazing strips and set the boundary virtual boundary warning as a notification to indicate when the pasture is grazed. When the herd has grazed down the grass the herd will naturally start testing the virtual boundary, getting audio warnings. Receive a notification when these increase in the pasture and before a single animal gets a pulse move the strip virtually. Not only is this method more convenient, it's more efficient and better for your herd. Avoid hours of lost grazing and strip graze from your phone.
