Why our collars hang below the neck
Our collars hang below the neck for a number of reasons. Their low center of gravity keeps them from rotating or shifting as the animal moves, so there's less need for mid-season adjustments.
That same position fits a larger, longer-lasting battery and lets the solar panel work more efficiently, making year-round grazing possible even in forests and low light.
It's also protected from the wear most collars face: tree-rubbing, and getting caught in a tight squeeze chute.
The chain also keeps consistent electrical contact, one of the reasons Nofence has achieved a 99.7% containment rate.
